no not all, the damp course is 4 courses of the out side ground level, so you say i have a valid point in asking why i have to use hard core sand and membrane and 100m concrete?

the spec i gave earlier was based on the assumption you were constructing a solid floor.

a suspended timber floor, as woody has stated, is kept separate from the masonry via a dpc layer.

certainly no need for insulation in the subfloor location, though celotex can be fitted between the joists.
