Hello,
Getting a new 25mm MDPE supply. Been told the stopcock can be a bottleneck.

Is it worth getting a MDPE 25mm to 22mm stopcock then reducing to 15mm straight after

Or just a 25mm to 15mm stopcock? Is the valve the same size in both taps?

Thanks

your 25mm plastic has about double the capacity of 15mm copper, so to get the best from it (assuming your existing hot and cold pipework is currently 15mm) use a 25mm/22mm stopcock and run enough 22mm copper to take your hot and your cold pipes off it. Then at least you will be able to get a good hot and a good cold supply without each having to run at half flow.

If you have more than one bathroom, or an unvented cylinder, there may be more you can do to take advantage of the extra flow that is available.

Thanks John, I'll put in a 22mm stopcock and continue in 22mm till the cold/hot tee off.
Cheers

Its not strictly correct, but I would fit a full bore lever valve for minimum flow resistance!
