The red indicator light on the water heater switch which is wired to the pactrol micro 7 plus and the immersion tank no longer comes on. I can't get hot water using the pactrol timer for heating the main tank for normal everyday use but I can heat the water tank using the booster button. However this is inconvenient and expensive as I need to switch this on twice or three times a day depending on what we are using the water for. Do I need to get a new timer or heater switch ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even though I get hot water from the immersion heater using the boost button does this mean my immersion heater could still not be working ?

the boost usually controls the top element

if the bottom one has gone thats the one that heats the whole tank

the boost heats app 1/3

Ahh... now that makes sense. Is this easy to replace ? Is it a case of replacing the element which is housed behing the metal cap attached to the immersion heater. Or is it more involved than this. Thanks for your help so far.

I have changed the heater element on the bottom of the tank but this hasn't worked. Any other ideas anybody ?

I have now managed to find out what the problem was with my faulty immersion heater and fixed it myself. Saved a couple of hundred quid in the process. Phew.
