1890s Terrace
Had a light renovation in recent years by a tradesman.
As I understand some plastering and decorating.
There is no damp smell
This is not my house.
Various tradesmen have been out with varying diagnoses so the owner is a bit lost on which way to go.
Gypsum over lime
Damp
No mist coat

Hallway is cosmetically the worst area.
Paint has fallen off. Some of the plaster is loose I believe this continues into the understairs cupboard.
Wall is to attached property

This is an external wall to rear. Most of the rest of the room is OK
Dark areas are just shadows when I took the pics
Front room
First pic front of chimney breast (Living flame fire). There are a few other areas to the attached property with similar paint failure
