Another thing about using paint stripper...the reason you shouldnt smoke when you use it is not because of the flamability of it...it isnt really flamable....its because the hot tip of the cogarette oxidises the paint fumes turning them into nasty gas's that go straight to your lungs.

Another thing about methylene chloride that most people aren't aware of is that it evaporates completely without leaving a residue. Take a look at any MSDS sheet on methylene chloride, like this one:

and scroll down to where it says:

% VOLATILES BY VOLUME: 100

That means that 100% of the volume of it is volatile, meaning it evaporates.

I think they add gelling agents to paint strippers to make them thicker so they stick to vertical surfaces better, and you may have to clean those gelling agents off with water or paint thinner. But, the methylene chloride in the paint stripper you use will evaporate completely without leaving any residue of it's own.
