Paint flaking off old walls

Old house, 1934. Walls were papered, all striped off. Sanded down and painted.

Mostly ok, bit some patches very bad with paint falling off.

It's this likely some wallpaper glue still on the wall.

Hi jonbey, scrape off the damaged area rub down coat with a white pva and water solution let it dry overnight recoat job done. Hope this helps.

I don’t know is the answer. I wouldn’t like to recommend something I haven’t used or tried and for the sake of £3.99 from BM bargains I wouldn’t risk it. Sorry.
 
Understood. We're just keen to crack on and shops are shut. It's going on, let's hope it sticks.
 
There is, bit I'll take my chances with what i have, trying to avoid shops as much as possible, perfect walls isn't worth dying for!
 
It's better, but still flakey in some areas.

Will order your pva online and finish next weekend hopefully.
