The walls in my house have been papered and painted by the previous owners. There are horizontal cracks starting to appear on the wallpaper on external walls. Is it likely that is just the paint cracking or do you think the actual wall is cracking? Also what would be quickest way to repair before repainting?

The best thing to do is remove the paper from the walls. Only then will you get the answer. I would guess that the walls have cracked, but with the paper off, you can see the problem, and maybe get a repair carried out.
