It looks like MDF on the inside with a burgundy wood effect on the outside - or it may be wood on the outside not quite sure!! I was going to replace it but thought I may try to paint it white after sanding it down. What is the best paint to use? Hubby says gloss but im not so sure

Thanks

With those wood effect bath panels, you're basically painting plastic. You need to prime it with a decent quality primer. Something like Zinsser Bulls Eye 1-2-3 will do. Then paint it with what you like - gloss would be best though in a bathroom.

I had one of those bath panels - I turned it round and tiled it to match the walls. Looks great. ;)
