Painting a chimney

I've set myself another wonderful task and that is to repaint the exterior of my house which includes a chimney (ideally I'd remove it but don't think I can afford it).

For most of the house I am planning to use a scaffold tower but the chimney is above an extension:

Is there a nifty way of accessing this without getting a proper scaffolder in to put something up (I'm in London so it's ££££)?

I'd just wedge and secure a ladder up the roof slope

you need some roof hooks attached to a short ladder:
