I have a BBQ (not gas) thats simply a grill with a hood, however the hood is rusty, I have cleaned it all off but its left some surface damage, I wish to paint the hood green (not the grill). The hood lifts up when BBQ is in use, but will still get a little hot. Is there special paint I should use? I cant see Gloss or Emulsion being the right hing to use, whats best?

still can http://www.frost.co.uk/ or your local motorists toyshop.

Might be a bit expensive. You could use an ordinary preservative primer after Kurust, and ordinary paint. You might have to do it once a year.

I found some Hammerite BBQ Spray Paint (black) so I will apply it one day when it isnt windy. Should I spray the grill part aswell? or just leave that part?

I dont mean the Chrome grill that the food sits on, what I meant to say was the part where the Charcoal sits, is it safe to paint that? I wonder if no because that part gets hottest as the flames sit on it? I mean the part underneath the chrome grill, shall I paint?

The part the charcoal sits on, looks good when covered with rust & grease.
