Painting corridors

Hi all

Ive got to paint some corridors walls in a small block of flats, is white emulsion ok? or do you think it would be better using a waterbased exterior paint?

might be better to use an oil base eggshell, this will be durable enough to cope with the finger marks and rubbing past etc and can still be wiped over if needed.
