Painting Coven

can anyone help, im about to paint living which has a plaster coven, what type of paint should be used for preparation and finish

If you mean you are about to paint coving in your living room? Is it plaster or polystyrene?

Er...plaster probably...

Thin the firs coat of emulsion down a little (about 15%) then paint as normal...painting coving is more or less the same as painting plaster board..the surface is very similar
