Painting exterior wood

Hi all,

I would like to paint my wooden window frames and fascias. I have heard that Sadolin exterior paint is very good.

My fascias are currently stained and my window frames are painted in white gloss. What do I need to do to prepare both the stained wood and the painted wood before I can apply the Sadolin paint?

No problem with the fascia assuming it's a microporous stain that's on it, just follow these Sandolin guidelines - http://www.sadolin.co.uk/products/sadolin-woodshield-superior-flexible-paint-for-wood/
Now the windows would have to be stripped of all gloss for the Sandolin microporous stain to work, down to the bare wood I'm afraid...pinenot

What would you suggest for removing the paint from the window frames - heat gun / sanding / chemical paint stripper

May require all three, keep heat away from glazing.
