Painting filler on ceiling

So I filled some bits on the ceiling where the plaster had cracked around the plasterboard screws but even after 2/3 coats there were still patches showing through.

So I realised I should have been mist coating the filler.

The question is what should I do now? Give it a light sand and start again? Or can I put some white undercoat up before going over with the emulsion?

White undercoat will work. If it's just filler you could also use acrylic primer/undercoat which dries quick and then put your emulsion on top.
