Hi all,

I've just given my walls two coats of Dulux trade emulsion and where the paint has gone over some Red Devil filler, there are loads of tiny cracks which appeared as soon as the paint was dry. Should I have used some primer/undercoat first?

If so I've got some Leyland undercoat on hand which I'm using on some skirting - I was thinking I could just sand down the affected area, give it a layer of undercoat and then go back over that with a couple of coats of emulsion. Should that do the trick?

Cheers,
Bert

Bert, what you have here is known as either crazing or cissing, if you were to lightly scrape and sand back and dust off you could apply a thinned oil based undercoat. Be sure to feather out your paint prior to your emulsion.
