Hi, I've had to sand mdf coving in my living room as it was thick with layers of paint. All I'm left with is bare mdf coving now I want to repaint them but will I need a specific primer before I use emulsion on it? Any help appreciated

Hi,

Only a DIY'er, I don't think I've heard of MDF coving before
For polystyrene coving and some MDF boxing, I have had great results with a simple water based primer and undercoat from Wilko (so basically, anything will probably do! ;) ).
After a fine sanding of the first coat, I've found the finish is so good that after another coat (or two), there is no need for emulsion :)

Haha I knew it was called something else it just looked like mdf. Thanks for the reply
