Painting over pre painted fence panels.

For the last couple of years I've painted my fences with a sprayer using Cuprinol, every year I have to do them again as the rain eventually washes it off.
I have always painted them forest green but want to change the coluor of them to say a dark brown.
Am I able to spray over the green with a different colour or am I stuck with the green??

Will probably take a few goes to cover the green, it might even take a few applications over several months or so, eventually it will be ok I would think. I recently painted a brown shed green. you could still see patches of brown coming through but the overall look was good, took two coats.

Why not test a small area first?
