I built a Large Bookcase in Maranti 6 years ago and finnished it using Ronseal Woodstain. Now although it is called woodstain, it is more like a coloured varnish????
I wish now to bring it up to the present trend and paint it in Crown period Colours Parsonage Cream eggshell which is a water based paint.
Question - The surface to be painted is quite large and does not lend itself to sanding down back to the wood. Has anyone any advice on the requirement for the pretreatment of the surface.
I have thought of using Nitromorse but that stuff is a nightmare to clean up. It has been suggested that I lightly sand and then apply a Melimime Primer or some thing Like Dulux Superstick. Maybe Ronseal Woodstain is not a varnish as I suspect and simply a light sanding before application of the Dulux paint would do.
Can anyone advice
