Painting over textured wallpaper.

I wish to paint the landing and down the stairs in Magnolia. . Presently there is a textured wall paper which has been painted pale blue matt. After reading comments about matt and silk should I use a matt magnolia for this job??

Whatever floats your boat! Matt over matt is no problem and silk over matt is OK, only time there may be a problem is matt over silk.

Many thanks. With regard to my kitchen ceiling been patchy. I think I painted silk over silk!!!
