Hi all,

My kitchen walls were plastered 0ne motnh ago. one wall has been sucessfully undercoated x2 and top coat put on and looking good !

another wall has had an undercoat x2 - a top coat has been applied and allowed to dry.

Yesterday the paint can now bit stripped and pealed off like wall paper ?

what have i done wrong when ive done exactly the same on all walls ?

Thanks in advance for any replys.

Its difficult to say without really knowing the situation.

You don’t say that you put up a mist coat first, but went straight for undercoat. I’m not sure if the undercoat was the mist coat. If you just went at the walls with paint then this will probably explain the peeling.

Was the peeling wall clean? In the month between plastering and painting a lot of fat and grime can soak into plaster in a kitchen. Is the offending wall near a cooker, boiler, vent...

Was it Dulux rich matt? you used by any chance?

And when you say 'undercoat' I presume you mean 'emulsion' and not oil based undercoat?.
