Hey guys. Gotta paint the back of the house. Its been pebbledashed and my cheapo masonry roller isn't up to the job. Is there a thicker pile roller for this job or maybe a pad? :?

Should be fine for normal pebble dash.

Purdy and wooster make the best rollers- you will need a 1 3/4 inch birdcage roller frame- often the frames at diy sheds are the smaller diameter.

If you get a long extension pole you will only need to climb your ladder to cut in. £30 for a pole will be easier and safer than trying to roll off a ladder. I have a pole that will reach the gutters on a two story house, the only downside is that you are applying less lateral pressure at heights.

Good luck

good luck with the job.

Other than a purdy or wooster roller you might find that your local decorators merchants has a roller and sleeve that is suitable for about £7.

Cheap enough to treat it as throw away. Bag the roller when not using it to stop it from drying out and remember to spray it with a mist of water through-out the day. It will pick up grit and shalln't be usable for interior work after.

Please, please, please buy trade paints and not retail paints. unless you are a member of the landed gentry or unemployed, the opportunity cost of your time will outweigh the higher costs of the paint, and it is likely that it will last longer as well
