Hello,

Does plywood need to be primed before painting? It's for a garden shed and I was thinking of using Bedec Barn Paint and as far I can make out, this paint is an all in one.

Any help, recommendation, or advice much appreciated.

It depends what colour, what paint and how nice you want the finish to be.
For exterior i would just quickly treat it with preserver, then paint as normal with the barn paint you suggested.

Thanks for the reply. Would something like Cuprinol Garden Shades be a better option then, as I believe that this has a preserver built in.

Yes, it would be fine, but I would still use a dedicated preserver before painting.
It takes minutes and dries quickly, so why not?
