Painting requirements re decorative moulding.

I need to paint this replacement piece of scotia moulding for a bathroom. Does it require a primer coat, undercoat or both? I suspect that just using a coat of eggshell is not sufficient.

The acrylic one is a primer/undercoat.

You can get the Leyland from Screwfix. Always handy to have around.
