Hi, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me out!

We have a 1930's semi detached - the standard design, with original parquet flooring through-out downstairs. We have lived here a year, and this problem has just started recently... everytime it rains small (5-10cm) spots appear on the flooring in the same spots, which come up on the joins. These are not near external walls - there are some in the middle of the lounge, some near the cupboard under the stairs and some in the hallway, all in the middle of the floor, not near radiators or any other piping.

Just a few other points:

- they have not appeared before
- we had double glazing installed 2 months ago
- we had cavity wall installation installed 4 months ago
- the under stairs cupboard has been cleared out so it is well ventilated
- external paintwork (cornerstones etc) was replainted 2 months ago with a specialist external paint that was breathable
- guttering was replaced in dec last year
- there are no cracks etc that I can see on walls outside
- there are 4/5 small concrete slabs that move underfoot on the path outside the house when it has rained
- no idea about dpc - I'm assuming there isn't one on main house, there is a conservatory which was added onto the house many years ago, I can see that this has dpc - it is not near to any of the affected flooring (there are rooms inbetween not affected).

Any ideas... I'm pretty stuck on where to start? Could it just be the path needs redoing?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice you can give!

ON the flooring or coming up through the blocks?

Edges of the floor at wall/floor junction showing any signs or damp on skirtings?

I was dealing with a sort of similar thing, parquet block floor 1930's probably sat on earth, but damp round edges. Painted it in in the end.

Not so easy in middle of floor...
