Hi
I have two hard drives C (60gig) & D(160gig). D is storage and C contains programs & windows XP. I would like to creat 3 partitions on C to have windows on one, programms on two and files on the three. Can I make partitions and move program files without re-installing all the programs and windows?

Probably with something like drive image and partition magic.

but copy all your backups away as you will probably cock it up
Hard drives are very cheap these days, why not just get an extra drive?

I used to partition my home drives a lot but don't bother now. I just set up a few directories for different purposes and use 3 drives, 2 of them caddy-swappable to make it easier to take the backups out. The C-drive is always the fastest and newest as it gets hammered more and holds system stuff, and is now SATA.
