Do i need to use the party wall agreement if i am resetting my chimney pots?

it is a shared chimney (semi) and the haunchings have gone etc. i am pointing my chimney up and re-doing the haunchings on my side.

You need to speak to the neighbour and invoke the "i will be doing up my side of the chimney so it makes sense to do up up your side of the chimney at the same time, else my side could be messed up by you doing your side at a later date" act!
