Evening. One for the sound proof specialists please.
I am trying to problem solve a sound proofing issue. 1930s semi detached house.
I wondered if it was possible for an assumed dot and dab plasterboard reno and then fixtures and fittings installed directly against/attached to a party wall/chimney alcoves (ie. Kitchen units or ply/mdf cupboards), could cause sound to transfer into an adjoining property (semi detached) through the party and flanking walls, and for effectively one house to hear worse noise than the other?
How does an effected house go about sound proofing if the sound issue is caused from one side? Or if indeed it is just a generally badly soundproofed party wall? I imagine party wall sound is a common issue but it seems complex to resolve.
Thanks
