I've been reading through the posts but can't find a solution to my problem.

I have a double switch at the bottom of my stairs (you know the type), one for landing light and one for passage light.

There are 2 cables in this light, both have 1 black, 1 red and an earth.

I can wire the downstairs light without a problem but don't know how to do the wires for the upsteirs light.

Thanks for any help.

What exactly are you trying to do, and why?

Has the upstairs light never worked? If it did, and now doesn't, what did you do to break it?

Do the wires go to the light, or to another switch?
