does anyone know the going rate per appliance for the testing,im seeing varying prices from £1.25 to £3.00 per appliance which includes free fuse and plug replacement

How many items do you need testing, I assume this is not a domestic situation?

about 300 in a commercial premesis

Any IT equipment? Anything from 75p to £5 per item depending on the situation and whether its ready to test or not.

As an idea, try your local plant hire company, they will have a PAT tester & they could well be prepared to come to you for a day rate. We would but we are in London

My old ,firm used to charge £2 per appliance which was about 3 years ago, if it includes free plug replacement / fuse I'd probably go with them. Price isn't bad and if you have appliances a few years old plug damaged etc its not worth the hassle
