Hi All,

I've done the front garden with ACOs, porcelain, turf, etc and went quite well so want to tackle the back garden around March.

The back of the house and the garage are perpendicular to each other however the house's DPC level is 2 bricks above the garage's DPC level. (see picture).

I don't want to have a weird step like it has now, I want a flat patio (with the 1 in 60 drop of course), however it means the porcelain will be around the DPC level for the Garage.

My current idea is to install an ACO drain 2 bricks below DPC level and cover that drop with some rocks or other decorative stuff so that you don't really see the drop so as to still keep the 2 bricks below DPC level.

I have read posts about garage not being that district in the 2 bricks below DPC given that it is not habitable and not really insulated.

Is this the recommended approach? do you have better ideas?
