I have a small patio area in my back garden that goes around one corner of the house, to the lawn.
In a line from the corner of the house to the lawn, the paving slabs seem to have dropped by an inch or two. i.e. the slab on the left angles down to the left and vice versa.
In the same corner of the house is the drainpipe leading (obviously) into the drain. My initial concern was maybe the drain under the patio had collapsed however there are no issues with water even in the heaviest rainfall.
The patio would have been layed many years ago and has not moved since I have been here - about 3 years.
I am thinking of just lifting the affected slabs, leveling and relaying. Or does anyone think there may be a problem worth investigating and why has this happened?
I should add that the patio does look rather diy but is otherwise level. I will also add that I do not understand where the drain goes. Would it link into the sewage/wastewater from my backgarden? or a soakaway? It is a 1980's detached property.
