Patio mortar

Have been trying to make up some patio mortar to try to get a reasonable match to some present mortar. All coming out too yellow. Current mortar is a light beige.
Even used white cement still way too yellow. I see one can buy white sand. Is this suitable for mixing with normal yellow builders sand?

Yeah. Can mix together. Do whatever to get the result
 
Going to look at some kiln dried sand first as that is supposed to be lighter than normal builders sand, and a lot cheaper.
