patio step

Hi all,

Planning to lay a patio which will be the correct 150mm below DPC level. I want to build a step on top to make the step out from the bifold doors less.

The paving expert website says you can do this with bricks and slabs on top of the patio. But it doesn't really say how or whether you cement the bricks and slabs to the house wall?

Really you need to make a foundation for the wall.

Thanks, but I'm not planning to build any wall, just a simple step on one layer of bricks.

not really an answer, but about half way down this page suggests you can put the steps right up to the house and use a membrane.

did you see the bit on "breaching the damp proof course"? That looks like it tells you what you need to know.
