Hi,

I've had a greenhouse installed with a dwarf wall and a concrete base, about 16sqm internally.

I now want to pave the base in natural sandstone setts (Marshalls Fairstone) - they're approximately 50mm thick with some variation.

I was thinking a layer of sharp sand and some brush in grout/resin or do I need to have a weak mortar base?

Thanks :)

Compact the soil. Lots. If it's topsoil then it will sink further over the years, so you may be better with butted up slabs with straight edges so they're free to move as needed rather than cracking.

Bedding on sand would be best if on topsoil.

Any pliable mortar bed is actually easier than trying to get sand level as you have the workability to rubber hammer them level. Plus they will be more stable.
