Hi All,

About to paint my child's room and have this fun to tackle. The tape round the ceiling, where it meets the walls is peeling in bits. A friend of mine who has had a similar issue said don't pull it off. Any tips on the best way to fix, for a kids room and I'm not a decorator to trade.

Thanks,

I am a decorator.

I occasionally work in properties with "tape and join" walls and ceilings.

It looks like the 90 degree tape has delaminated.

My advice would be to cut through the paper . Often, but not always, you can cut through the join and then apply caulk over it.

You may, or not need to sand the crack.

Difficult to comment without seeing it first hand though.

I'd use a straight edge to guide a Stanley blade through the line.
