We have a pendant light we would love to fit but it doesn’t have any fixture to fit it to the ceiling (brought second hand and nothing else came with it). It also doesn’t have any screw holes in the top piece. Does anyone know what kind of product we need to be able to fit it to the ceiling? This will be to a newly wired light fixture and have been exited to use this but now realised it needs some kind of fitting just not sure how it works… thanks!it does have a plastic grip eyehole piece but the upper metal piece then falls down the cable, it’s not held up by anything else so just wondered if anyone knew about this? Really appreciate the advice on this very specific question!

Would a hook keep thenupper piece of metal up do yuo think? It’s not attached just the cable goes through the middle

Does it not have a plastic screw that would tighten onto the flex and hold it up against the ceiling?

Something like this.
You screw it to the joist, then you hook the plastic loop on and attach the wires and the cup slides up the flex and hides everything. The cup should be held in place by a screw or device on the fitting.

Tip, if you don't need all the flex, don't chop it off. Push the spare up into the ceiling. Then if you ever refit the light fitting in a room or house with a taller ceiling, you can let the flex down.
