Still not sure maybe if I explain.
The main house faces a road that is on a close and we intend to build a garage in the back garden about 10m or so behind the house to the right hand side.
As you come out of the close on to the main road you run parallel to our garden where we want to build the garage.
It would be some 19m from the this road and there are lots of trees and hedging along the road.
Just wondered if this would fall under PD and I seem to recall in the old rules that you had to be 20m from the highway to be able to build under PD but is that to the front of your garden or to the side or both ?

If you want build a garage in your garden it can be built without Planning Permission under Permitted Development if it complies or you will need to apply for permission if it does not.
