I've just had no less than 6 apparent scam calls (answered), one after the other, from 020 8044 4164. The first, seemed to be claiming to be from O2, simply replied that it was a scam and not to ring me, and put the phone down. seconds later, another call from the same number, different person(both Indian), who got some of the same, then the first person rang back quite annoyed I had put the phone down on him. My own reply by now very annoyed. Those followed by yet three more calls, all quite aggressive.

Ringing the number back, it showed as a none existent number. Searching on line, nothing matched it.

Do you have a call blocking service from your provider, they might charge for it but have a database for a lot of the numbers used. It's always a case of catch up, but it might reduce the frequency and number of calls. I just turn off the answerphone, and that seems to reduce the frequency of calls.

I had one recently claiming to be from BT where he got really abusive. It was hilarious. Told me to F Off and called me a c*nt. He finished by saying he was going to cut off my broadband. I said fine, I'm with Virgin.

On my landline, yes - it blocks all but known numbers, but these calls were on my mobile.
Never call the number back.

I call the number back, out of curiosity, just to see if it was a genuine number.

I limit who knows my mobile number, but occasionally get scam calls. I report and delete them immediately, not necessarily a solution for everyone.

Agree same unfortunately not much more you can do. As im sure you're aware you can install a spam caller APP on your phone also which filters this scum.

Last one that phoned me I called him a goat f###ing C##t, didn't phone back
They're scum of the highest order.

I LOVE reading the articles or seeing vids on YT of folk who play them at their own game e.g. keep them talking for 2 hours :)

I once got a call from an Indian scammer saying that I've won a prize draw of £250,000.

Me: Oh you're so nice, instead of giving the money to me, give half to the charity and keep the rest to yourself.

Scammer: Oh no no, this gift is specially for you sir.

Me: I already told you, I won't accept it.

He then hanged up the phone.

Never call the number back.

Tell them they’ve won a prize. 1000 lakh. They just have to send you 100 lakh to verify

That's a lot.

I always ignore, copy number and paste into “who called me” website. It tells you if the number is ‘dangerous’, ‘neutral’ or ‘safe’. Then I block them. Got literally hundreds of blocked numbers.
