Working in areas like Birmingham, Nottingham, East Yorkshire and Staffordshire means I was often topping 220 miles a day, getting home late and being too knackered to be of any use to anyone. All the while, the symptoms of a lot of the conditions I was later diagnosed with were there but not recognised.

I'm quite sure from all the stories I have read over the year that there are more than a few people here who deserve an easier, kinder, more gentle New Year than this one.
