Has anyone been to the USA ? Just been watching cops caught on camera and there was this guy who drove up to a petrol station ( it was closed ) in a pick-up and then started to blow torch the bolt off the handle bit  then he filled up his pick-up and drove off.

Are the pumps diff from over here ? I thought all pumps are the same, as in they have to be started by a switch/button like the UK.

The gas for the torch probably cost more than the fuel over there .. US gallon (0.833 Imp Gals) of regular in Oklahoma currently $2.093 -- Just got US$1.86 per £1 exchange ... Blimey, the oil crisis bites - not for some!

UK ones have electrically-driven pumps; I would have expected the forecourt circuits to be turned off when closed.

(in an emergency or disaster you can (could) take the cover off and spin the pump by hand).

He was caught on CCTV filling up when it was closed, thats what made me think about the pumps and how the petrol was coming out.
