Hi,

I think my petrol strimmer is in need of a service. It takes a while to start and dies when I open the throttle fully.

I'm using petrol that is quite old so I know that doesnt help.

What should be done as part of a service? I assume replace the spark plug. Anything else?

There is a small adjuster screw on the side, I'm not sure what that is. Mixture or idle speed maybe?

Any advice appreciated!
Thanks
Alan

It could help if you told us the make, but go for a new plug, fresh fuel and a cleaned air filter.
The most important bit of any strimmer is lubricating the gearbox at the bottom of the shaft where the line reel fixes to....but that won't affect the starting!
The screw you refer to could be a high or low speed running
adjustment for the carburettor fuel mixture, or simply an idle speed adjustment.
John :)
