peugeot 405 gtx timming belt

hello hope you can help me cambelt snapt oncar just had head valves and tappets done can not get timming correct as old belt had white marks on it for cam and crank but cannot get this type any were genuine belt dose not have marks on it can you help please as need car for work

hi thanks for reply the engine is 2.0 petrol injection the reg is m 1995-6 hope this will help

is it a 16valve?? hope its not as they are prone to hairline cracking of the pistons when the belt breaks.

you need pins to lock the camshaft and crankshaft.

post an engine code and 16v/8v and i'll see if i've got the autodata instructions

the engine is 8 valve have not got vin no but will post it tommorrrow the head is back on but car has a top end tapping and is a bit hesatant other than that it runs ok
