Hello all. I have a problem with the fuel system on the mentioned vehicle, a 1.9 non turbo, which is obviously letting air into the system and as a result is suffering from fuel starvation if stood for a while. This is sorted by priming the fuel with the pump on top of the filter housing. However, when carrying out this operation fuel starts to seep out of the pump bulb, or between the plastic button and the metal housing. It only leaks while priming, but I am assuming that this is also where the air is getting in. Has anyone come across this before? And is the pump unit servicable, or do I need to replace the whole fuel filter housing assembly? I am servicing the vehicle at the weekend so would like to sort this leak out while replacing the filter. Thanks in anticipation.
