Am selling a 1960's house, and the buyers surveyor wants to take a second look as he thinks excess phophorus/posphates in the floors may be causing cracks in the walls. Has anyone come across this before and is it a major problem?

It's sulphates, and specifically "sulphate attack" of the concrete, not phosphates

With regards to your surveyors concerns and sulphates, it is unusual for cracking in the walls to be present without significant [visible] problems with the floor too
Cracks in the walls related to this problem would be confined to the walls below ground or some bulging at floor level - but normal vertical or stepped cracking higher up the walls would have a different cause
