Hi all

Need a little advice please?
What would be the signs of sulphate attack on a concrete floor covered in ceramic tile?
I've had surveyor say floor MIGHT(???) be subject to attack, the evidence they submit is a 'catching' wooden door- it was grit on its underside! Problem solved. The tiles on entire floor are flat, secure, level, not broken, cracked etc.
House is 1950's construction, no neighbours have ever hear anything like it.

Please advise. It all sounds a bit unfair, buyers now worried.
Thank you.

None, we've had the level all over the floor - no bulge, cracks or any to report

Nothing in street, checked with our neighbours in identical houses in our row. Nothing on our survey when we bought. Everyone a bit baffled. Surveyor seems to have mentioned the words 'sulfate attack' due to it being a 1059s build.

50's houses didn't normally have a DPM under the slab, which protects it from the problem. Doesn't mean it will definitely get a sulphate attack.
