Hi,

I am looking to install a 2 foot high picket fence into soil, what size posts should I use? Will 3 foot be secure enough or will I need to go for 4 foot?

Thanks for your advice. :D

I'm doing the same.

Going to use 4 ft posts with 18 inches in the ground and the pickets at 2 ft 6.

The wind wont bring them down.

It is sometimes cheaper to buy 8ft posts from a timber yard and cut them into 2 x 4ft, just remember to treat the cut end.
