Hi

I have an electric shower downstairs that I want to get shot of. The cold water feed comes from upstairs, would I be able to branch off the hot water feed from the combi (at a suitable point i.e. under the bath) and follow this cold pipe down)

This way I could fit a mixer shower instead, thus eliminating the need to step the electric shower upto a 10kW from existing 7kW in order to get better pressure

Would I lose much heat / pressure?

The run length is about 10m max

Thats fine but there will be a short delay as the boiler fires up and the hot water gets to the shower.

All hot water pipes should be well lagged.

Thats something most installers dont bother to do !
