Pigeons on my roof - Do Ultrasonic scarers work?

Anyone had wood pigeons trotting along their roof waking them up?
Its really beginning to annoy me now!

I was wondering if the ultrasonic speaker systems work?

Or should I get spikes put along my tiles and gutters?

Hi... I look after pest control for my company, and we have had pigeon problems in the past.

Both the Rentokil technicians, and years later the Ecolab field Biologist, said that we shouldn't bother with them, because the birds just get used to them.

The will stay a way a week or 2, then just ignore the scarers and come back en masse.

we installed 36" plastic birds of prey on the roof of a local authority recycling plant to try and deter the seagulls,

the gulls were sitting on the heads of the deterrents before we got back in our van

Pigeons hate the smell of WD40, try spraying some around the roof.
