I'm having a single storey extention built 7m x 4m and because we are building over a 3m shared drain we are having a piled foundation.
The company we chose quoted for 6, 300mm augered pile cast insitu (£2975.00) and a 400 x 400mm RC ground beam 23m (£3925.00).
My problem is that due to a sandy soil we could not auger the piles and they have had to be driven. We now have 6, 220mm dia steel piles at a depth of 3m average. I guess the ground beam will not change. I was not given a price for this extra / alternative work, should this cost me more or less than the original quote.
I'd be very grateful for any advice you can give.
