Hi, sorry if I babble a bit, just want to make sure I tell you everything

In the boiler (MARATHON 600B) we can see that the pilot light is lit but the main burner wont light up at all. The boiler thermostat is at full wack and so is the thermostat that controls the rooms. I don't know if this next bit is import or not, last night my partner let all of the pressure out of the radiators by accident, topped all the rads up and put the pressure back up its at about 2 bar same as it was before. Any help greatly appreciated as I am very cold.

Thank You

A Marathon 600b on a pressurised system? Are you sure? That's a cast iron boiler and afaik there is no overheat on it.Do you mean an unvented cylinder?
You need to list all the controls on your system ie Motorised valves etc and a Pic if poss.

tbh im no heating expert, ill put a pic up in a min see if that helps explain things.

this is what it all looks like. There is also a water tank to the left but i didnt think that was relevant

on this on, the gauge on the left has reading of zero and the one on the right is at 2 bar

Good pics but I am now concerned that your boiler has been pressurised and there is no sign of an overheat.I'm not sure that this boiler is suitable for pressurised systems. The MI's will have this info.If the boiler does not fire for either ch or hw does the pump run?If the pump runs then it probably indicates a failed gas valve solenoid. To prove all this you need to be competent with an understanding of electrical fault finding and a good heating engineer will find your fault in no time.

The pump is working, and the soleniod is fine, was replaced about 6 months ago by a propper gas man. My other half just went up to try it again, it was working for about 1 minute then went off  . I rent my house so unfortunatly im not allowed to call a gas man round without there concent as they pay for it. Just because im a bit thick can you explain why this is bad, its obviously been in for a very long time due to all the crap thats its aquired.

Without being in front of the boiler a diagnosis is not possible. With respect you are not in a position to do any detailed tests and you should report to the landlord to arrange a service call. You should have a copy of the Landlords Gas Safety Inspection, and this should be done each year.Pressurising a boiler is ok ONLY if the manufacturers allow it and I don't remember Thorn M600's being allowed.Get it safety checked asap

Thanks for the help. Left a message at the estate agents but they wont call me till monday  typical. Nevermind, Thank you again
